Beginning Computer Skills
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, August 13, 15, 17.
9:30 am to 12:30 pm – 9 hours total instruction
Class size limited to 12 students – you are encouraged to register now as this class is one of our most popular and books up quickly.
This course is designed for the beginning computer user or anyone wanting to become more proficient at daily computer tasks.
Three-day course (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. One 15-minute break at 11:00.
A final test will be administered upon completion to measure the new skills learned. A Certificate of Completion is presented to all students who pass the final test with a score of 80% or higher.
Day 1. Understanding the Keyboard functions, Windows 10 Desktop features, Create and Save simple text document, Cut/Copy & Paste tools
Day 2. The Internet: terminology, browsers, search engines and safety online. Email Options – software vs webmail, how to create and use Gmail account, attach pictures or files to an email message, and email etiquette.
Day 3. Computer Hardware terminology and functions, how to properly name and save files or pictures, Proper file organization.

Microsoft Word – Level 1
3 week course, 3 hours per day, twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, August 21st to September 6th, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Total instruction time 15 hours class time plus online assignments for grading, and test on final class day.
This course can be taken along with Microsoft – Level 2 as preparation for the Microsoft Certification Test.
Windows 10 – Basics, Programs, and Features
Saturday, August 25th, 10:00am to 2:00pm.
A 4-hour course designed for anyone seeking a better understanding of Windows 10. You will discover bonus features not included in prior versions of Windows. Once you understand the concept behind Windows10, you will enjoy the current and new features that Microsoft continues to deliver as the Operating System evolves.
This course is slightly condensed compared to our 2-day training option, in order to offer it as a single Saturday session. Only topics rarely needed have been compressed or removed from this session, and it will not affect the quality of instruction. Price has been reduced from $65 for the 2-day session to $45 for this 1-day session.

Workforce Skills 6-week Course with Certificate of Completion
Tuesday and Thursday, August 28th through October 4th, 2018. 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. 6-week course, 36 hours of classroom instruction, plus assignments completed independently through our LEARN online instruction portal.
This course is a must-have for anyone returning to the workforce, graduating high school or college student preparing to enter the workforce.
Upon completion, you will have an employment portfolio complete with professional resume and certifications of completion from each of the lessons in this course. You will have perfected the “interview process” to put your best foot forward.
A sampling of lessons includes, but is not limited to, customer service, telephone etiquette, conflict resolution, business correspondence, dressing for success, business negotiation, standard office procedures, Microsoft Office basics, marketing your strengths and much more.
A Minimum of 6 students enrolled in this course is required for this course date. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the course may be rescheduled to accommodate more students.
File and Email Organization – 1-day Workshop
Tuesday, August 31st – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Files, Folders and Email Organization – The Basic Computer Skills class is recommended prior to attending this class, but not required if the student can pass our basic computer literacy online quiz.
This course is a hands-on instructor-led 2-day workshop – 4 hours per day. Upon completion, you will be able to properly name your files, organize them into a practical folder structure designed for your needs, and reorganize your existing files into the new folder structure.
This course is highly recommended for anyone seeking organization in their computer data files.
This course fulfills the prerequisite for the Personal Data Backup or Business Data Backup courses.

Compare the most popular methods for personal data backup – Cloud Backup services vs local data back-up, external Hard Drive or USB Key. 3-hour course presented with live demonstrations and PowerPoint presentation.
External Hard Drives and USB Keys available for purchase, or bring your own to class. You will be completing a data back-up in class.
Microsoft Excel 2016 – Level 1
3 week course, 3 hours per day, twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, September 11th through September 27th, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Total in-class instruction time 12 hours plus online assignments for grading, and test on final class day.
This class is an entry-level class for Excel in the Workplace. You are required to have basic computer skills prior to taking this class.
Prerequisite: It is recommended that either the student have already completed our Windows 10 Basics course OR have a strong working knowledge of Windows 10. This is not an introductory course.
Class size is limited to 12 students to ensure personal attention to each student. This is a popular class. You are encouraged to register in advance.
